KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew will grace the SJK (C) Shan Tao Primary School Fund-Raising Dinner this Friday (July 26) at the Sabah Hakka Hall.
An 11-member delegation from the school’s Board of Governors, Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) and Shan Tao Primary School Alumni Association, led by PIBG President Eliza Goh, extended the invitation to Liew, who is also Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, during a courtesy call, Monday.
Headmaster Andrew Chong said he planned to install an interactive board in each of the 45 classrooms for improved pupil participation and response during lessons.
Goh, who is also the Organising Chairperson, briefed the Minister on the progress of the school and its academic and co-curricular achievements.
She said the Carlsberg company, which has been supporting Chinese medium schools throughout the country, will sponsor the performances of 10 Top Singers from the Peninsula as part of the entertainment programme for the dinner.
Among those in the delegation were PIBG Adviser Fung Mou Poon, School Board of Governors Chairman’s representative, Johnny Liau, President of Shan Tao Primary School Alumni Association, Fung Chun Fatt, PIBG Deputy President Chin Ne Ne, Assistant Secretary Mimie Tai, Treasurer Grace Tsen, Auditor Susan Woo, Vice-Headmaster Chung Tek Fei (Extra-Curriculum) and Vice-Headmistress Agnes Wee (Curriculum).
Also present was the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, William Baya.
