TAWAU: Given their academic accomplishment, the Anglican schools – Vision Primary School, Vision Secondary School and Vision International School – have the potential to draw students from neighbouring countries, in particular Indonesia.

MP for Tawau, Datuk Christina Liew advanced this view when officiating at the Vision School’s 10th Anniversary celebration with the theme “From Strength to Strength” at the Vision School Hall, Bandar Sri Indah, here, recently.

Speaking in the context of education tourism, she said Indonesian parents are sending their children to Tawau for education purposes as they are aware of the importance of the English language as an international language and a global player in every field.

“I am very impressed to see that the three thriving schools are providing quality education not only to the children of Tawau but also those from neighbouring towns and the interior. This effort and commitment is truly praiseworthy.

“Here is an excellent opportunity to reach out to neighbouring countries to bring in more international students who will be able to learn more about our Malaysian culture at the same time,” she said.

Liew, who is also Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, urged Vision School to continue to strive for excellence as a strong academic hub in Tawau and beyond.
