TAMAN MESRA INTERNAL ROADS AND AMENITIES EARMARKED FOR IMPROVEMENT IN OCTOBER

SANDAKAN: The roads within Taman Mesra in Sandakan as well as the amenities like the dustbin location structures, food stalls and playground have all been earmarked for improvement come October.

This follows a joint inspection visit to the area by members of the Highway and Public Utilities Committee (HPUC), representatives from the service management company and the works contractor as well as Unit Pemimpin Pembangunan Masyarakat (UPPM) Elopura.

During the visit, the Director of Pengurusan Harta Amalmaju Sdn. Bhd, Akmal Alimuddin, was personally present to see for himself the situation. He promised that his company will identify and start maintenance and repair works beginning on 1st October. 

Among the priorities he pointed out were repairing of kitchen and bathroom piping, toilet plumbing, corridor and staircase lighting, general sweeping and cleaning, grass cutting and drain clearing especially those drains under the buildings. Other facilities that needed attention were the roofing over the dustbin area and the food stalls.

Meanwhile the representatives from contractor Pembinaan Kekal Mewah (PKM) said that they have already applied for and are waiting for funds to upgrade and repair the internal roads of Taman Mesra. They also assured that routine clearing of drains along the entire length of fencing around Taman Mesra is being carried out on a regular basis.

Also present to inspect and discuss matters concerning Taman Mesra was Stanley Tan from UPPM  Elopura and Bryan Chang and Peter Soo from HPUC.
